A cardiovascular surgeon with over 30 years of experience, including the establishment and management of tertiary and cardiovascular hospitals from the ground up in Europe and Asia, including China.
He served as a war surgeon at a Red Cross hospital during the guerrilla war in Cambodia, on the border between Thailand and Cambodia.
He worked as the deputy director at the largest heart center in Europe (Rhön-Clinic) in Bad Neustadt, recognized at the time as one of the best-managed and financially successful centers in Europe.
His work includes the establishment and management of the Heart Center in Ingolstadt in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic and InterContinental Hotel Group - German Hospital in Tirana, Albania - Jilin Heart Center in Changchun, China - TreeTop Hospital in the Maldives, and Pacific International Hospital in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. He also served as Vice President of Medical Affairs at Medpoint Asia and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for R&F Hospital in collaboration with UCLA Health in Guangzhou, China.
Recipient of 24 international awards, he has published around 300 works, including about 100 original articles and abstracts.
